Jewelry With a Purpose

Jewelry With a Purpose

Assigning specific jobs to your crystal jewelry to support your intentions....

You might be asking ‘what the hell does she even mean by ‘intentions’ and ‘creating an intentional life?’ since I mention it in everything.  Or you might not be, but let’s start there anyway.

Intention setting is a type of mindfulness practice.  You can think of it as a more meaningful way to set goals for yourself.  Intentions hold your hearts’ desires, your feelings, your purpose.  They are deeper and more connected to your aspirations and emotions, more so than simply checking a box that, ‘yeah, I mailed that package today’.

Intentions should be thoughtfully crafted based on the hopes and dreams you have for your life.  How you want to live and feel in your day-to-day, right here, right now.  Sometimes external noise can have a big impact on our day-to-day, and there are most definitely things that are beyond our control.  But, generally speaking, you have the power to create the ideal existence for yourself (no one else can do it for you).

Sometimes we catch little glimpses of an idea and our hearts light up with excitement.  And for a moment, we think ‘Man I’d love to do (insert big crazy dream here)’, but then our busy minds and schedules immediately swoop in and take over and we think ‘I don’t even have time to think about that, let alone do it.’  But here’s the thing…

Those brief moments where you catch a glimpse of an idea or concept – that is your inner knowing speaking to you.  Your heart, your soul, your intuition – whatever you want to call it.  You wouldn’t have the idea if it wasn’t meant for you.

Don’t brush off those crazy ideas, instead, dream big.  What would your life look like if you did follow that idea?  What does it look like?  What are you doing?  How does it feel?  Who are you helping by listening to your heart?

And that’s where it begins – with a seed, one tiny little idea.  If it lights a spark inside of you, don’t dismiss it, look at it, analyze it, dream about it.  And dream big.

During a recent conversation with one of my chosen sisters, she was telling me about an idea that kept coming up for her over and over again.  An idea that feels ‘great big’ and, perhaps, slightly out of reach.  I got super excited for her because that’s it!!  That is her heart, her intuition, saying ‘Hey, here I am.  Follow me.’  That’s what it looks like… and that’s exciting.

Once you’ve identified that big dream you can start figuring out how to get there.  What qualities and strengths do you need to tap into to begin your journey?  (I have a lot more ramblings for you on that topic later xoxo).

As Walt Disney said – “If you can dream it, you can do it.”  (plus, if I can, anyone can… believe me).  Follow your heart, it knows the way.

For now, let’s get back to how you can use jewelry to support you on your journey.  But one more side note (one extremely important side note)…

You do not need any of these products to get where you want to be.  You already have everything you need inside of you – you just have to look (and listen).

But, if you’re into adding these sparkly resources to your toolkit, here’s some ideas for you.

Using crystal jewelry to support your intentions is a fairly simple process… Once you’ve established your intention, take your selected piece of jewelry (after clearing it of any negative/old energy it may be carrying... with selenite, water, or smoke), hold it in your hands, and state your intention.

Say exactly what you want or need.  And then… Wear it.

And every time you look at it, you are reminded of your intention, you are reminded that you are supported on this journey.  It helps you stay focused and remember what you set out on (any why) in the first place.

How do you pick the right stone?

One technique, and one I find to be the easiest, color coding in association with our seven main chakra (energy) centers.   These main energy centers each have their own distinct qualities and purpose… here is an extremely brief and condensed explanation of those centers and corresponding crystals:

From the top…

Crown (Sahasrara) Chakra – Top of the head.  Intuition, connection to the Divine/Higher Self.  Color:  Violet White.  Associated stones:  Clear Quartz, Selenite, Amethyst, Lepidolite

Third Eye (Ajna) Chakra – Forehead.  Open-mind, creativity, visualization. Color:  Indigo/Deep Purple.  Associated stones:  Lapis Lazuli, Labradorite, Fluorite

Throat (Vishudda) Chakra – Ummm, throat?!?  Communication, speaking, listening.  Color:  Blue.  Associated stones:  Blue Lace Agate, Aquamarine, Blue Kyanite, Lapis Lazuli

Heart (Anahata) Chakra – Again… location seems self-explanatory.  Love (self-love, romantic love), compassion, empathy, friendship.  Color:  Green.  Associated stones:  Rose Quartz, Green Aventurine, Green Onyx, Rhodonite, Malachite
Solar Plexus (Manipura) Chakra – Belly (between chest and belly button).  Power center – if you need to get shit done, this is the place!!  Color:  Yellow.  Associated stones:  Citrine, Tiger’s Eye, Honey Calcite, Amber, Pyrite
Sacral (Svadhisthana) Chakra – Lower abdomen/belly.  Creativity, play, fun, passion, pleasure.  Color:  Orange.  Associated stones:  Carnelian, Sunstone, Garnet, Goldstone
Root (Muladhara) Chakra – Lower body, base of the spine.  Safety, security, foundation, connection.  Color:  Red.  Associated stones:  Red jasper, Black Obsidian, Hematite, Smoky Quartz

Or an even simpler method…

Pick the one you are drawn to.  Let’s say you have a difficult conversation coming up and you want something to support you.  Typically, that would point to a blue stone to support your throat chakra (communication), but you are being drawn to garnet.  Maybe there’s a reason for that, maybe you need to muster the courage to have that conversation and this stone represents the support you need.

Or maybe your drawn to clear quartz – could be a sign you need to organize your thoughts first… Green aventurine or rose quartz calling to you?  Maybe you need to find compassion in your heart before this conversation.

So, there may very well be a reason you’re called to a specific stone, you never know.  I like to think of things like that as signs, an opportunity to ask why.  Never stop questioning, asking, learning.  <3
